Before you begin

A good result starts with the surface.

Clean thoroughly, remove coatings that block penetration, and test absorption. Follow the instructions for your selected product.

  1. Clean & prepare

Remove dirt, residue and contaminants before applying.

  2. Test your surface

Confirm that water can soak in. Existing coatings may prevent penetration.

  3. Follow the right method

Guard uses wet-on-damp coats. Fusion needs 60 minutes between coats.

A little guidance before you order

Should I choose Clear or a stain color?

Clear preserves an uncolored look, but it does not stop wood from naturally changing color in sunlight. Tinted choices add color. Check a sample on your own wood.

Can I use Guard over an existing coating?

Guard must penetrate the surface. A coating that blocks absorption needs to be addressed first. Bring us your project details so we can help you plan the preparation.

Are the wood-chip colors exact?

Use them to narrow your choices. Wood species, age, preparation and screen settings change the appearance. Masonry will look different from the wood shown.

What sizes can I order?
