Description
A water-based exterior clear finish for suitable outdoor wood projects.
Application guide
Drying times assume about 70°F and 50% humidity. Allow longer in cool or humid conditions, and follow the current can label.
Prepare & apply
Prepare the surface and apply three coats. Spray application is recommended in the current technical sheet; use a brush or roller only as permitted by your can’s instructions. Lightly sand between dry clear coats with 220–320 grit. Do not sand fresh stain or use steel wool.
Drying & next coat
Allow at least 2 hours between coats and 5 days before exposure to outdoor weather. Full cure takes about 21 days. Allow longer in cool or humid conditions.
Compatibility & important tips
Use with Exterior 450 Stain or a manufacturer-approved system. Not for decks or tabletops directly exposed to sun and rain. UV protection helps preserve the finish but does not stop wood from changing color. Avoid clear coating white or light paint.
